A fun family friday night!

Josh and I are trying to embrace the simplicity and calm of our life that is about to change! (although it is a welcome change!) And trying really hard to make Grace feel special and secure before her world is rocked here soon as well. Yesterday Josh got home at 2:30!!!!! Not his normal 6. Which was amazing, Grace was still down for her nap- I could definitely get used to that! So we napped while Grace finished her nap and then took a trip to Costco to stock up before baby. Josh barbecued and then we sat around the fire pit and made smore's! It was such a fun night. Grace didn't actually love the smores, which disappointed me a little, she doesn't love being sticky. But she did like playing with the marshmallows, roasting them with daddy (for mommy- she didn't want to eat them) and eating chocolate and gram crackers. (Grammy you would be proud!) So it was a fun way to end the week and start our weekend!

Still here!

We had a rough saturday, and this is grace eating a dinner of pbandJ at 7:30 on the couch watching cartoons!

Our hero! That tire was toast! And on the freeway too!

My baby bump is still here! I have been very patient, I think, so far. I really don't mind waiting a little more for baby Gabe. I am finally trying to rest and relax, spend some quality time with Grace and, even though I am super super excited to meet our little man, enjoying the time that we have left as a family of three, the calm and the sleeping at night! However when yesterday I thought my water broke and we went to the hospital to see if I was in labor I got a little excited and now am a wee bit bummed to be sitting here pain free!! But like I said I am enjoying the simple life for now, resting, and trying to show Grace lots of love. I think she is sensing the coming change, she's been a bit clingy, having trouble at bed time and having a few tantrums and what not. I think we will try and do something special with her this weekend. But anyways just to send an update out, my bump is still here! However yesterday inspired Josh and I to finsih up getting everything ready for baby Gabe. We mostly finished his room, though I have a few craft projects to go, and packed our hospital bags. Josh was so sweet yesterday - father's day- he knew I was tired but wanted to come home so badly and get things baby ready. So even though he had to get up early to work this mornign (on his normal day off) he stayed up late with me and put all baby gabe's clothes away, cleaned the bathroom and picked up our bedroom! He is seriously the best husband and daddy I could ask for! Here are some pics of my still present bump, Gabe's room and what an awesome guy Josh is changing our flat tire on our not so great Saturday this past weekend. (That's another post!)

I love our backyard!

Despite the ucky weather we've been having lately, we are starting to really enjoy our new backyard! Josh really did such a good job of planning and executing this project and I am still so thankful to all our friends and family who helped josh do everything!
I really really enjoyed two things about our yard this past week;
1. letting Grace play outside by herself while I got dinner ready, we were both so happy!2. Having awesome friends over to break in our yard! Three princesses!

I don't know why we never take pictures of the adults, at least Jake is in this one!

I also made a tomato cucumber salad on wednesday night and used basil from our garden! It was so yummy!

Bryce Graduates!

My baby brother graduated from High school! I can't believe it, it makes me a little sad! But I'm proud of him! He put on a senior recital on Sunday and even after the person in charge of opening the venue he was renting never showed up he went with the flow and put on a beautiful performance! The people at Old World Deli were kind enough to let us invade on a moments notice and just half an hour before they were closing to host Bryce and all his guests! I'm proud of you baby brother!

Finally some posting!

At the last family dinner we had just us, josh made this yummiest salsa ever! Tomatoes, cilantro, avacado, onion and lime juice! So good! Josh had it over fish and I had it over chips!!

Today is the start of our weekend, I decided. Josh is still at work but I've marked it as the start of our weekend anyway because it the first day that we aren't going anywhere in two weeks! Everything we've been doing lately has been super fun (like yesterday I realized we have eaten dinner with family and friends the past 5 days in a row- which I love) but we have been home late every night and up early every morning and it's started to wear on us a little. (Grace hasn't gone to bed before nine once since last saturday!) And one night this week I actually thought (though I am still awase from my due date) that if I did possibly go into labor I wouldn't have one ounce of energy to actually have the baby! Anyways it's time to rest up. I thought we wouldn't be doing much this weekend, but again I am wrong, but that's ok again, it's all fun stuff! We'll have time to rest after the baby is born right? :) Ha! Ok enough complainging, because like I said we've been having a blast. But today I am going to catch up on blogging and do all the posts that have been in my head this past week or two. Starting with this one;

I have only been regected from a handful of jobs in my life, and this one may by far be the most dissapointing. Read my rejection letter.

Thank you for taking the time to respond to the screener. We’re sorry, but you were not selected for our Rice Cracker Taste Test on Tuesday, June 9th. We will contact you for future taste tests.
We do appreciate all the effort that you put in to filling out the screeners. There are a couple of reasons that you may not have been able to get in. The first is that you may not have qualified for the type of consumer that our client was looking for. The second is that we have over 2000 people in our database and each test usually only requires 75 – 100 participants. We do our best to give everybody a turn but it is hard to keep track of who has and has not participated in our tests. We do hope you will give us another chance.
Thanks again for your time,
